Stinky Pete - Male Bristlenose Pleco L107 - SUCCESFUL BREEDER
Stinky Pete, what can we say, he’s a wee bit different then are other stock but is one of the most vibrant and active Bristlenose plecos we’ve had the pleasure of breeding. Unfortunately Pete was born with a bent spine, it was not as prominent as a Juvenile but as he has matured it has become more developed, fortunately this appears to NOT be genetic due to his successful spawn of 52 healthy fry that are now all around 6 months old. We have priced him accordingly but he is a fish with a lot of character, very affectionate and inquisitive who will happily rest on your palm given the opportunity. Photographic proof of his fry can be provided upon request, just use the ‘contact us’ form.
Male Bristlenose Plecos start growing their bristles around 6 month old. The bristles are the main difference between male and females. Males are also typically larger and have spikes on their fins and can grow up to 15cm.
Current size is around 10CM’s, estimate around 2 years old.
They are good in a community tank and with peaceful tank mates. They typically scavenge live and frozen food, along with algae wafers. They also need drift wood as a essential part of their diet.
They enjoy planted tanks and lots of swimming room. They need to be in tanks that are 115 liters or above.
