Common Pleco - Hypostomus plecostomus

£25.00

The Common Pleco is one of the largest growing plecostomus available in the aquarium trade, reaching up to 50cm and with a lifespan in excess of 20 years. As they grow they will require larger tanks, our current stock require tanks minimum of 200 liters.

They are relatively simple to keep, requiring drift wood and algae as a food source, good filtration and water flow and a steady temperature of 22-26 degrees.

Due to their heavy armour and size, they can be housed with any manner of tank mates, usually a peaceful and non territorial fish, suitable for community tanks if appropriately sized.

Current size of our Pleco in stock is roughly 12cm long.

Water parameters:

  • Temperature: 23-27 Celsius

  • Hardness: 2 - 30 GDH

  • PH: 6.5 - 7.8
