Red Line Tetra - Hyphessobrycon Amapaensis
The Red Line Tetra is a striking and dynamic shoaling fish adding a touch of beauty to any aquarium.
As with all Tetras they are most comfortable in groups of 5 or more and in a well planted/setup tank. They have a preference for slightly softer and can be housed with other Tetras and fish off similar sizes. They are comfortable with flake food and are partial to live/frozen or freeze dried food like Mysis shrimp, Bloodworm and Daphnia.
Originating from Southern America they are best in river style setups with plenty of driftwood, roots and live plants to create natural shading areas, they appreciate a mild water flow and with all fish benefit massively from the addition of air pumps.
They grow between 3-4CM’s dependant on sex and are classed as middle-top inhabitants within the tank, we would strongly advise NOT housing these with any form of predatory fish or placing with inhabitants who are livebearers if you are trying to breed.
Water Parameters:
Temperature: 23 - 27 Celsius
PH: 5.0 - 7.0 PH
Carbonate Hardness: 2 - 8 DKH
General Hardness: 5 - 15 GDH
