£15.00

The Pictus Catfish is a medium sized catfish originating from the rivers and streams of South America, all aquarium Pictus are wild caught as breeding in aquaria has never been successfully achieved. They are a nocturnal and social fish who prefer to be in groups of 3-5 in a heavily planted large (300L +) tank with plenty of hiding places. A soft substrate like sand is a MUST to protect there bellies whilst foraging. As a group they will be extremely active during the night talking to each other, they use there Barbells to click - sounds like a dolphin. They can be veracious eaters and will consume any livestock that fits into there mouths, best kept with other cats, barbs or rainbow fish.

  • Temperature: 23 - 26 Celsius

  • PH: 6.5 - 7.5 PH

  • Carbonate Hardness: 3 - 15 DKH
