Borneo Sucker - Balitoridae
The Borneo Sucker is a variation of the more common Hillstream Loach, a small bottom dwelling sucker mouth catfish. Although small they are often found in fast flowing rivers and consequently require similar tank systems with a strong filtration flow and high oxygenation levels with a setup similar to that of rivers - this includes river worn rocks, submerged driftwood roots and trees with soft sandy substrate or river worn gravel - They do not cope with sharp substrate as this can damage their sensitive stomachs.
They are generally a peaceful fish suitable for aquariums however, they can be defensive over territory so it is best to keep singly or ensure there is ample areas for each fish to claim as their own.
Water Parameters:
Temperature: 20 - 24 Celsius
PH: 6.5 - 8.0 PH
Carbonate Hardness: 2 - 15 DKH
General Hardness: 4 - 12 GDH
