Neocaridina shrimp Mixed Colours and Grades Breeder Starter Colony - 10 Shrimp

£15.00

This bundle will include a minimum of TEN Neocaridina Shrimp of mixed grade and colours. They will be picked from a tank containing roughly 5000 shrimp so we cannot guarantee any particular colours or sizes however, we have a preference to send juvenile shrimp as they are far better at adapting to different water qualities and handle shipping much better. We will NEVER send a pregnant shrimp as they often drop these eggs during transport.

As the Shrimp reach around 80 days old they will be fully mature and will start reproducing.

Lifecycle:

Mature female shrimp will become ‘Berried’ and seek a male to fertilise her eggs, she will carry these eggs for 25-35 days before the eggs hatch and become Shrimplet’s, the Shrimplet’s will take around 60 days to reach a Juvenile stage where they will start developing a colour. It will take an additional 15 days on average for these juveniles to reach an adult stage and within a week sexual maturity ready to continue the same cycle.

Mixed colour shrimp will often produce different colours eventually defaulting to the standard brown colouration, to breed specific colours i.e. Cobalt Blue’s then you must separate them by their colours.

Water Parameters:

  • Temperature: 22 - 29 Celsius

  • PH: 6.5 - 8.0 PH

  • Carbonate Hardness: 3 - 15 DKH

  • General Hardness: 4 - 14 GDH
