Rubbernose Plecos are a striking, mountain stream suckermouth catfish from northern parts of South America. These medium sized Loricariids love fast moving water with lots of rocks and driftwood, intertwined with a few plants. Growing to around 18cm long, an aquarium with a minimum length of 100cm is required and they will be quite happy with a pH level between 6.5 and 8.0. Can be kept safely with most community fish (especially ones from fast moving waters) and central/south American cichlids. Feed a mix of sinking pellets, algae wafers, and frozen tropical foods.
