The Congo Tetra are colourful fish that originate from the Congo River Basin in Africa. They have long fins and large scales when fully grown and can reach up to 8-9cm’s long in males and 6-7cm’s in females. They are a large peaceful fish suitable with a variety of community tanks housed with large or small fish, due to there elaborate fins they should not be kept with fish who have a tendency to nip fins.

They are hardy freshwater fish and thrive in good water quality with a PH level balance of 6 - 7.5.

They enjoy eating live food, such as, bloodworm and brine shrimp, frozen and flake to help keep the good quality colouring.

Current stock is 1 female, around 8cm’s and mature.

Water parameters:

  • Temperature: 22-26 Celsius

  • Hardness: 5 - 20 GDH

  • PH: 6.0 - 7.5

  • KH: 5 - 20 degrees
